Anti-Cellulite Guide

Tips for firm, smooth skin

After the cold winter months, every year we long for sun and warmth again. As soon as summer gains a hold, we naturally want to get out there in shorts, skirts and a bikini – and we want to look good in them too! Don’t panic! You can already start following our tips for firm, smooth skin now. And then there’ll be nothing in the way of a great summer 2021.

Even, firm skin is seen as THE beauty ideal but it’s out of reach for more than 80 per cent of woman aged 20 and over. Why? Cellulite! Cellulite is formed in the hypoderm – the deepest skin layer – when weak connective tissue is not strong enough to firmly enclose fatty tissue. Small dimples of fat break through this loose tissue and rise up to the surface of the skin where they become visible. It’s mostly the thighs and bottom that are affected by this unsightly dimpling.

Firstly, please note: cellulite is not an illness and does not need to be “treated”. Anatomical factors are natural and are simply part of the female body. These cushions of fat serve as a reserve during pregnancy and breastfeeding, while the loose connective tissue of the skin allows it to stretch enormously during pregnancy. Nonetheless, lots of us ask ourselves: is it possible to get rid of cellulite? The extent to which cellulite is visible depends on genetic predisposition and hormones, as well as on our own lifestyles. The following tips & tricks should help to give the natural beauty of your skin the best possible support.

Keep moving!

Regular movement is all-important for a healthy body, and also for firm skin. Cellulite is boosted if we are overweight, while doing sport promotes the breakdown of fat and improves circulation in the skin. Endurance sports such as jogging, swimming and cycling in particular are ideal for breaking down excess fat. You should aim for around 30 to 120 minutes per exercise session. For optimum anti-cellulite results, combine this with targeted exercise for your glutes and thighs – try out classics such as squats, lunges and star jumps. If you don’t like the sports we’ve just mentioned, yoga and Pilates are also good ways of getting rid of fat and building muscle.

If you want to do your muscles and skin a favour after sport, the thermoactive gel SPORT go is the perfect choice. It promotes the regeneration of tired muscles, while the plant extracts it contains deliver a soothing warming effect and boost circulation. Combined with a massage, this gel can help to firm the skin and loosen tight muscles.

Firming skin care

When it comes to firming skin care, two things are key: intensive moisturisers that can bind a lot of water and store it in the deep layers of the skin, and antioxidants like Vitamin C that protect us against free radicals, thus helping to prevent premature skin ageing. During the day, use a rich body milk and adequate sun protection. In the evening, try a firming care treatment that works overnight. The skin’s appearance can also be improved when showering and moisturising. Alternating between hot and cold water and massage using gentle pinches will stimulate the circulation and round off your care programme to perfection.

FRESH body milk which was specially developed to meet the needs of dry skin delivers intensive hydration, nourishes and soothes dry skin with high quality plant oils, and makes the skin supple.

To protect and care for your skin naturally in the sun, try our FRESH sunscreen. The waterproof SPF 20 formulation is easy to apply and provides intensive all-round protection against sun-related skin ageing.

FRESH overnight body treatment is used in the evenings, applied and massaged in to the body’s “problem zones”. It stimulates collagen synthesis, cell renewal and skin metabolisation. Your silhouette will be smoother and firmer, cellulite and stretch marks are reduced – and it all happens overnight.

Beauty from within

A healthy, varied diet at all times plays a big role in the fight against cellulite. It helps to limit an increased ratio of body fat which is something that encourages the visibility of cellulite. Natural foods such as fresh fruit, wholegrain products, plant oils and nuts supply the body with valuable nutrients such as Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins. Valuable vital substances that firm the connective tissue can also be obtained from natural supplements. Too much sugar, fat, salt and alcohol, on the other hand, is a no-no for anyone who wants to do their body a favour. To ensure that the fibres in our connective tissue get enough hydration and stay elastic, it is recommended that you drink at least 1½ litres of water or unsweetened herbal tea per day.

CAPS beauty & hair
contain natural vital substances that strengthen beauty from within. They deliver firmer connective tissue, a fresher complexion, stronger hair and more resilient nails. The skin’s elasticity is boosted by a wheat lipid extract, while SOD from melon extract combats the formation of annoying dimples. Manganese and copper from buckwheat germ powder help to preserve connective tissue.

Speaking of nutrition: stay away from crash diets! They weaken the elastic fibres in our tissue because of the release of free radicals. As soon as the fat cells are refilled, the connective tissue is unable to cope, and the yo-yo effect has a counterproductive effect on combatting cellulite.

A healthy lifestyle promotes the skin’s natural beauty and helps anybody who wants to make their cellulite less visible. Apart from regular movement, that also means a healthy diet, plenty of fluid, and the right skin care. And one thing you should never forget: a positive attitude to your own body and a big helping of self-love.
